Supervision

Hello, I’m Jenny (or Jen, as we get to know each other).

As a practitioner, I’ve come to realize the importance of having a space where I can explore my own experiences and vulnerabilities—just as I do for my clients. While we’re all trained to create safe spaces for others, I’ve found that not all supervisory relationships feel the same. Have you noticed this too?

Through some insightful conversations with my coach, I’ve become more attuned to how I operate both emotionally and cognitively. I’ve learned that when I feel “put on the spot”—something that’s often unintentional and comes with my sensitive nature—there’s a part of me that feels the need to be the “perfect supervisee.” This can drain my energy and, honestly, sometimes I don’t get the most out of my supervision. Does this resonate with you?

If you’re looking for a supervisor who offers a warm, open, and non-judgmental space to reflect on your clinical work, I’d love to connect. Here’s a bit about my background:

  • Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from City University, London (2011).
  • Extensive experience working in secondary care mental health teams in the NHS.
  • Transitioned to full-time private practice in 2021 after part-time work starting in 2015.
  • My approach blends ACTIFS, and EMDR, with a focus on relational dynamics and the lived experience.

If you’d like to explore whether we’d be a good fit, I’m happy to offer a complimentary 20-minute introductory chat. Let’s discuss how we can make supervision a more enriching and supportive experience for you.practitioner.
